This blog has been created for students enrolled in ECON 398U ST:  Causes and Consequences of the Great Depression at the University of Richmond.  Others interested in participating in our academic discussions are welcome.  The course is designed to provide an understanding of the economic, political and social issues surrounding the Great Depression.

Throughout the semester, we will use this blog to respond to our reading and to discuss relevant current events.  The course textbooks are The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression, by Amity Shlaes; FRD’s Folly, by Jim Powell; and Riding the Rails, by Errol Lincoln Uys.

Opinions expressed by the instructor and the students do not necessarily reflect those of the University of Richmond or the School of Continuing Studies.
